This is an incomplete list of Dirty Pair Fan Fiction available on
the internet. Most of the stories should be available at the Fan
Fiction archive at ftp://ftp.gweep.ca in pub/anime/anime-fan-works/. Most
stories are located in /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/Dirty-Pair
Anonymous posts are NOT accepted. All stories at ftp.cs.ubc.ca archive site
are compressed using the "gzip" standard, be sure to have an un-zipper handy.
If you have no access to an un-zipper which handles "gzip" files, you can
request the ftp site uncompress the file before sending it to you. In order
to do this, simply request the file without the ".gz" extension (i.e. if the
file is listed as dp.got.the.time.gz, request the file dp.got.the.time).
This option imposes additional load on the ftp server, so it should not be
used unless you have no other option for uncompressing the file.

Novel, and Adam Warren Comics/Manga will be considered the
heart of the Dirty Pair Universe. Inconsistencies between
the different Dirty Pairs will will be over looked during
the review of all fan fictions, since the authors do not
always state which is the source material for the story.

Story Type: The Dirty Pair Fan Fiction stories in this list are divided into
6 general categories, the categories are described below:
1) COMEDY - The story features the Dirty Pair in a comical manner
that is light hearted and funny. Basically the Pair
are just having fun or not taking the mission very
seriously. An Example would be the OVA 2, the
Halloween party episode.
2) SERIOUS - The story features the Dirty Pair in a serious manner
with little to no comedy type features in the story.
The Pair are overly serious and do not joke around.
An Example would be the OVA "Flight 005 Conspiracy".
3) COMBINATION - The story features the Dirty Pair in both serious and
comedy situations. This category is the closest to
the TV series where the Pair joke around but get
serious when they have to.
4) CROSSOVER - The Dirty Pair meet characters from another series.
5) UNUSUAL SETTING - This type of story is typically putting the
Dirty Pair in a setting that would normally
never happen. Examples are the story includes
magic, dimensional travel, and time travel.
9) NO IDEA - These stories did not fit into any of the above
formats. (NI)

Title: The Dirty Pair in "Mistakes"

local security force stop some political terrorists. The Angels get
assigned a liaison to work with named Damien. It does not help that
both Kei and Yuri take a liking to Damien and both try to catch his
eye. But why does Damien know one of the terrorists?
Personal: This story is written in script format. This story starts out well
and gets right to the action. Most of the characters are given
personalities with some depth. There is good character interaction,
but Damien overshadows the Angels a little two much in the story
(he upstages them about once a chapter).

Title: Legion's Quest "Mi Vida Loco"

Synopsis: Ed (AKA Legion) is on his journy home. This time he rotates into
the Dirty Pair universe. The problems start when the WWWA learns
of his technology and want to ask him a few questions about it.
Problem is Ed does not want to talk to the WWWA. The situation
gets worse when Coyote shows up with his own plans for Ed.
Personal: This fan fiction is written in paragraph format. The plot is
nicely developed. Characterization is well done and the
characters nteract well together. There are a fair number of
grammer errors in the story but the story is still being written
and has not been finished.

Title: Dirty Pair "Different Options"

Synopsis: A new drug is threatening to destroy civilization. The drug is
called Blisscyst and you can get addicted to the drug just by
touching someone that is already addicted to it. Kei is partnered
with Samuel Noskos of the Stellar Integrity Group, to search for
the source of the drug.
Personal: This fan fiction is written in a paragraph format. There is a
format problem with most of the sentences not going all the way to
the 80 column mark (wrapping at say 40 columns and the next line
going to 80. The story is riddled with coincidence after
coincidence. This weakens the story, but the story is further
weakened by jumps in the plot and lack of detailed descriptions
(or details being changed in the next paragraph).

an incident that she feels is her fault. The story is written in
paragraph format.

Synopsis: The Lovely Angels are sent to the planet Xanadu, a pleasure resort
planet, that is having a rash of terrorist attacks and organized
crime. The Lovely Angels run into an old school friend that gives
them a little help by being in the right place at the wrong time
to witness one of the crimes.
Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. This story adds a little
more depth to the Angel's younger days through a flashback to when
they met the old school friend. This story is a straightforward
stop the bad guys with no major twists in the plot. The Angels do
use their psychic abilities, putting this story in line with the
original Dirty Pair book and the Streamline video "Affair on
Nolandia". The story flows well with a nice combination of comedy
and action.

Synopsis: The date is June 23, 2937 and a space craft is found drifting into
Earth's solar system. Kei and Yuri are discovered sleeping in time
freeze on board the shutdown Lovely Angel. The Angels are unfrozen
and brought up to date on what the current situation is on earth
(as the Angels have been out of it for over 800 years). Not
everything the Angels are told is pleasant, nor to their liking.
They agree to help the freedom fighters of earth overthrow Neo
Queen Serenity, ruler of earth. But not everything is as it appears,
and the Angels start to question the situation.
Personal: This fan fiction attempts to draw as many Anime series as possible
into it. I've lost count of all the references. The story only
partially follows Kei and Yuri, as it is split evenly between all
the main characters. There is a lot going on in this story and
several different plots are occurring at the same time. It is not
known at this time if all the plots are connected or not. The author
does a good job of explaining how each anime character is present
in this future time. The personalities are well thought out and
each character has depth as well. The plots are very nicely done
and several nice mysteries are forming. This fan fiction is
written in script format.
Pre-Story: Sailor Moon "Best of all the Years"
This pre-story is only for background on how Priss ends up in the
future and some background information on the workings of the
Crystal Tokyo government.

Synopsis: Shasti has finally been caught by WWWA but they do not want her
destroyed. So, they remove the LaCombe personality from her mind
and do a little rewriting while they are in there. But Shasti has
some problems dealing with the fact that she killed Deirdre. For
some reason the Central Computer thinks Cory Emerson can help
Shasti come to terms with what she has done. But someone else
does not want Shasti to recover.
Personal: This fan fiction is written in paragraph format. It follows Shasti
and Cory more then the Angels or other characters in the story.
The plot is straight forward in this story but there is a small
mystery of what the Central Computer is holding back in terms of
information. Several references are made to an adventure that has
already occurred (author plans to cover this story in a flash
back format, in the future story). Some of the characters lack
depth of personality.

Synopsis: The Angels, Cory Emerson, Deirdre, and Shasti are on the run from
the 3WA. They are concerned about what kind of wetware bombs may
have been implanted in them by the 3WA. So, they travel to
Boondock, a group there can help them. But the 3WA is not just
going to let the Angels go that easily. They form a new trouble
consultant team to track them down.
Personal: This fan fiction is a major crossover between the Dirty Pair,
a pair of Heinlein novels and Neon-Genesis Evangelion (though the
later only draws on character names and personalities and has
nothing else to do with the Evangelion universe). Unless you're
familiar with the Heinlein novels: "To Sail Beyond the Sunset",
"The Number of the Beast" and "The Cat Who Walks Through Walls"
some of the characters will be confusing. The author does not
give sufficient background on all of the new characters to
understand their role or function in the story. This fan fiction
is written in paragraph format.

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. This story is very short
and is not fleshed out. Character development is almost non-
existent. The comedy elements are more appropriate for Tank

only ship that has won a confrontation with the Rarlgon fleet is
the "Soyokaze". In an effort to increase the effectiveness of the
"Soyokaze" the WWWA is asked to send some assistance.
Personal: This is a crossover between the Dirty Pair and the Anime series
Irresistible Captain Tyler. It is a short story with little
character development. It centers more on situational comedy and
appears to draw more on the "Tyler" series for the comedy elements.
The Angels are stereo-typed in this story. The story is written in
paragraph format.

Title: Air Disasters and Other Problems with Traveling

everyone in the spaceport, plus a space plane that just landed,
hostage. Both Kei and Yuri know that the SPF will not deal
with terrorists and take matters into their own hands to stop
the terrorists.
Personal: This story is very well done. The Lovely Angels are in fine form
in this story and are very serious about stopping the terrorists.
There is no comedy featured in this story.

Synopsis: What were Kei and Yuri like when they were younger? Well this fan
fiction gives a look into what the young Lovely Angels were doing
while at Meizuiru University. Needless to say even before they
joined the WWWA the girls just had a way of getting into trouble,
especially when Kei talks Yuri into helping her take a space ship
for a ride (which they do not have permission to take, of course).
Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. It does a very good job
of depicting what Kei and Yuri may have been like in school. Some
of the backup material is drawn from Adam Warren's "A Plague of
Angels" but is by no means a requirement for this fan fiction. The
story has a nice mixture of comedy and action. The story flows well
and is very well structured.

Synopsis: The story opens with Yuri doing an undercover operation to catch
some slave traders. After the mission is over with the Pair get
some time off but it is cut short. The Pair get assigned the task
of protecting a wealthy industrialist named Tamikia Jiinas and her
two daughters from various kidnapping and assassination attempts.
The Pair decided to catch the master mind behind the kidnappings
and then they really start to have fun.
Personal: This is almost a series of stories strung together. The undercover
operation, the vacation, and the protection job could all be
separate stories but are joined by underlying sub-plots through
the entire story. Yuri gets a little more of the spotlight than
Kei in this story. This is a very good story written in paragraph
format and contains both comedy and serious action.

Synopsis: The Angels are sent to the planet Alantis to investigate the death
of the CEO of the Dragon corporation. After completing the
investigation the Angels take some quiet time on Alantis. They get
an invitation to attend a party at the Dragon Arcology. While the
Angels are attending the party, some terrorists attack the arcology.
Of course, Kei and Yuri are not the type of ladies to just sit
still while this kind of fun is going on around them.
Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. There is nice character
development in this story. It is very well written with a nice
section featuring Kei and Yuri relaxing in their own way. The
characters have nice full personalities and the story flows well.

Synopsis: Yuri and Kei get sent to Shivass 5 under cover in an effort to
clean up one of the worst crime areas in United Galactica (UG).
Kei gets to investigate the police and Yuri's job is to work
on gathering information about the leader of an illegal tech
ring. But can Yuri pull off the deep under cover job, when it
calls for her to do some really nasty things? Even worse, will
Yuri be able to arrest the leader of the ring, when she starts
to admire the efficiency with which things are done?
Personal: This story highlights Yuri more than Kei. Kei gets some time in
the spot light but almost all of the action is Yuri's. This is
a rather dark story about the worst in society. Even with the
criminal element doing despicable things, the fact that they are
efficient and professional (in a strange sort of way) comes
through. This story runs the full length of a deep under cover
operation, including the review board second guessing the
operative's actions after the case is closed. Yuri's and Kei's
personalities are in fine form in this story. All other characters
are well defined and the plot flows well. There are several dark
elements and scenes that may be unpleasant for some people to
read, they are tastefully done but the emotional impact is still
there. This fan fiction is written in paragraph format.

Synopsis: The Lovely Angels are pulled into the past by a magic spell. The
caster of the spell was trying to get a different set of ladies
named Twin Star. But due to an error in the casting the spell the
name Dirty Pair was used. Since both sets of ladies were known as
the Dirty Pair the spell pulls the Lovely Angels from the future
and Twin Star from the past (along with the group called Inquiry
which Twin Star is a part of) into the year 2069. The caster of
the spell, Samuel Martin, requests that they assist in solving
a murder of an alien diplomat that used an old fashion gun powder
hand gun.
Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. The Dirty Pair are more
of a supporting cast in this story. The members of Inquiry are the
main characters in this story. All of the characters are given
interesting personalities and interact well. There is good
character development and the story flows well. If you're looking
for your basic Dirty Pair TV series type of fan fiction this one
is not it, due to the use of magic and superpowers in the story,
but the story is enjoyable and well written.

Synopsis: Kei is called home for a family matter and Yuri accompanies her.
Kei's family is the ruling body of Nova Albion. But not
everything is fine on Nova Albion. Before the family reunion is
over the Angels will be thrust into an adventure that will rip
two Canadian military officers from the past, involve the
criminal organization Lucifer in an attempt to destroy the WWWA,
and the feared Pirates of Purgatory. On top of this Kei's cousin,
Donald wants to travel back in time and change history.
Personal: This fan fiction is written in paragraph format. The story flows
well and the different plot elements are drawn together nicely.
The story has a lack of emotion and detail that makes some of the
characters feel two dimensional. There are several parts of the
story where a character is accepted at face value to advance the
plot. The story draws on several different sources for
background, including the original Dirty Pair novel and the TV
series (these are not listed in the Pre-Story area due to the
fact that they are not widely available to everyone).

story is short about five pages.

and straight forward. The characters in the story lack depth of
personality and emotion. The story is short, about seven pages.

Synopsis: The Angels get an assignment to stop some terrorists on the planet
Siamalay. The problem starts when Yuri's Grandfather is in charge
of the business the terrorists are attacking. But matters get
worse as the Angels learn that the living conditions on Siamalay
are barbaric. Will the Angels complete their original assignment
and stop the terrorists? Or violate orders and assist them?
Personal: The story is well worked out and draws on several sources for
background information (including the original Dirty Pair novel
and TV series, these are not listed in the Pre-story area due to
not all the material being widely available). The story is well
structured and flows well. A lack of detail makes some of the
characters in the story appear to lack emotion and/or personality.
The plot is mostly straight forward with only one major twist in
the plot.

reference to the Dirty Pair is in the second paragraph and it
refers to the Dirty Pair as an Anime. The story draws on the
Cyberpunk RPG for terms and technology. A reference is also made to
Carson D. Carson of the Dirty Pair Movie "Project E.D.E.N." but his
personality is majorly changed. Cory does not also appear to be
based on her previous appearance in Adam Warren's Dirty Pair Manga
"A Plague of Angels". This story is written in paragraph format. If
you're looking for a Dirty Pair story or action this story is not
for you. It is a nice story about lost love found again but it is
not a Dirty Pair story.

Synopsis: The story starts in 2090 with Dr. William Galet, head of Research
and Development for HyperTech preparing to test a new thruster
engine. But with a little help the test fails and Dr. Galet is
sent into the unknown. Dr. Galet's ship turns up again in 2141
destroying a space station the Lovely Angel is approaching. After
bringing Dr. Galet's ship under control the Lovely Angels discover
one unconscious William Galet. But the story only gets started
here, it seems that someone likes the way Dr. Galet's ship destroyed
the space station and wants it for a weapon. Not to mention Dr.
Galet's going to have to adjust to a new life.
Personal: This is a very well written story. Yuri is given a bit more of
the spotlight than Kei, as Yuri takes a romantic interest in
Bill Galet. The story is written in paragraph format and flows
well, with a nice mixture of comedy, drama, and action.

Personal: This story is a nice mixture of comedy and action. It is very much
like the Dirty Pair TV series. The story is written in paragraph
format. In addition, the character of Bill Galet is added to, and
the relationship between Bill and Yuri is carried over into this
story. The plot is simplistic but enjoyable to read.

Personal: This story fills in a lot more detail about Shasti and gives
Deirdre more personality. It provides possible insight into
why Shasti has some of the problems she does. This is a very well
written story. The story is written in script format but switches
to a paragraph format and then back to script format changing
the feel of the story a little.
In addition, there are ten gifs located in the anime archive
directory holding this story. All of the gifs are scans from
some of Adam Warren's manga and some are from other sources. All
gifs are black and white (and dated Sep, 29, 1994)

Synopsis: Someone has gotten a hold of Lord Robin's mock-space technology
and is using it to steal some high tech equipment. When the WWWA
discover that the WWWA agent turned traitor, Shasti, is involved,
they send three teams of trouble consultants after her. The teams
are: Lovely Angel, NightRiders (appeared in Experiment-101 fan
fiction), and Lonely Hearts (one team member had a cameo at the
beginning of the Lord Robin fan fiction). Also added to the team
is a data plug of Deirdre, Shasti's former partner, who was killed
by Shasti when she turned traitor. Last but not least to the team
is one Andrew Fisher, former psychologist that assisted in Shasti's
development during her first few years of life. The mission is
simple, stop Shasti and bring her back alive if possible, dead if
necessary.
Personal: This story is written in script style. It is very rich in
character interaction and personality exploration. The Dirty Pair
play a large part in this story but at times take a back seat to
some of the other characters in the story. It is a fast moving and
fun story with several twists in the plot every now and then to
keep the reader on his toes.
There are ten hand drawn gifs that go with this story (located in
the same directory as the main story). There are also two other
files that are labeled dp.reunions_trailers and
dp.reunions_datafile. The data file gives information about the
characters involved in this story, it is not needed to enjoy this
story but it adds more depth to the characters. The trailers file
is a series of movie style trailers that were posted to the net to
increase interest for this fan fiction. Reading the trailers is not
needed for the "Reunions" fan fiction, but it adds more depth to
the story, as well.
History: "Reunions", posted in June of 1995, was begun by Ryan Mathews on
July 15, 1992... which makes it one of the longest delayed stories
on the group.

appears attacks and then vanishes after the attack. No one seems to
be able to track the fleet. Can even Kei and Yuri stop this mad
man?
Personal: This story is written in script format. This story is very well
done. There is nice character interaction and character
development. This story is a mixture of seriousness and comedy.
The two elements are blended nicely.
This story is used as a base history for the Dirty Pair "Reunions"
fan fiction.

Synopsis: Universe 6.182947 is due to violently explode in the future. The
interdimensional, time traveling, trouble consultant Daved takes
the assignment to prevent this disaster from occurring. He travels
across dimensions to the planet Lenorica, in the year 2142. Kei
and Yuri just also happen to be on Lenorica investigating
Thornheart industries. Are the two cases connected? Well, during
Daved's briefing, it was said of the Angels, "If anyone could blow
up a universe by accident, it would be them."
Personal: This story is written in script format. The story has a nice air of
mystery to it. Are the two cases really related or is Daved chasing
the wrong lead? Daved does help out the Angels covertly, while he
is trying to figure out if the cases are related. The Angels notice
this help and corner Daved. This is very well done with a very nice
character interaction. The story flows very well. Even with the
addition of time travel and other items this has a strong Dirty
Pair feel to this story.
History: This fan fiction is credited with being the first fanfic ever to be
posted to rec.arts.anime.

claim to have seen this OVA. The OVA does not exist. If the OVA
did exist it would be enough for the average fan to understand what
was happening in the story. There is partially completed script
format of this story located at the web site listed above.

he is a mystical Crystal Knight of eons ago? Is Red telling the
truth, are Kei and Yuri really his reincarnated friends from
long ago to continue the eternal struggle to stop the demon
Nag'sharath or is he just the universes latest nut case? So, when
Tarc steals the lost exploration ship to confront Nag'sharath, Kei
and Yuri chase off after him (to recover the ship for the
salvage rights) and end up in "The Game Eternal"
Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. The characters in this
story are well done and have a lot of depth. The story is fast
moving with several reversals in the plot. The story includes
reincarnation, magic, magic items, and demons. Not your typical
Dirty Pair story, but Kei and Yuri are still the same even with
the reincarnation element.

really just like the original Kei and Yuri?
Personal: This fan fiction is more on the serious side. There is little, to
no comedy in the story. It has a heavy element of what makes a
person unique, and does the cloning of a person still alive reduce
the individuality of that person. This story is written in
paragraph format. This story flows well and brings up some
interesting ideas about improving a person by bio-engineering.

agree and the hunt is on.
Personal: This story adds more background information about the character
Shasti. The story flows well and is well structured. The only
drawback to this story is you know that Shasti has to get away
to appear in the future part of the Dirty Pair Manga "Dangerous
Acquaintances", as this story takes place just after the end of
the flashback in the aforementioned manga. The story is written

it. Then I read "Here We Go Again" by Christopher "God-Boy" Angel.
And an evil seed was planted. The seed grew as I wrote other fics,
and finally blossomed into maturity and grabbed my brain in a
stranglehold. I tried to fight it off, but I couldn't. So I finally
said "The heck with it!" and here it is.

met the Lovely Angels before (and not all of these people like the
Angels).
Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. The story is a nice
blend of this new crew of people and the Lovely Angels. Everyone
gets their fair share of time in this story. The story flows well
with nice character interaction and is very well written. The
comedy and action blend well.
These pre-stories and tape are not needed to understand this
fan fiction but they do add depth and background information
on why these people would be in the situations they are in and
what their previous involvement with the Lovely Angels were.

Synopsis: The Dorman Colony Complex, on Planet Locris, has sent out a
distress signal. The Lovely Angel is the closest ship and responds
to the call for help. What the Angels find plunges them into a
fight for their lives as the Aliens are trying to overrun the
colony complex. But things go from bad to worse as "The Company", a
ruthless and greedy conglomerate, is involved in the situation. A
company owned ship, the "Glory Ann", is responsible for the Aliens
being on the planet, but was it deliberate or an accident? The
Glory Ann recovered something from deep space and then headed for
the planet Locris, after getting encrypted orders from "The
Company". Accusations of sabotage and spying get added to an
already desperate situation.
Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. This story starts out as
a desperate fight against the Aliens. But a larger mystery is added
with the sabotage and spying implications. The list of suspects and
clues makes the story more than a running fight. The new characters
in the story have full personalities which allow for in-depth
character interaction. The Angels end up getting rescued by the
marines in the story often. This reduces the Angels toughest person
around feeling as the marines appear tougher. The story ends with a
sequel type ending with a new plot hook left open.
