After the Great Kanto Earthquake of 2025, many unstable and non-earthquake
proof buildings collapsed from the severe groundshaking and aftershocks. To
stabilize the population, the government quickly built low-incoming housing
for those families in desparate need for shelter. Because these apartments
were build so quickly, they are in constant need of repair. Now, many of
these apartments are falling apart as the city neglects the pleas of the
tenents for help. Surrounded by busy expressways, the noise and air pollution
from the cars and trucks make the area barely livable. Just recently, Genom
has acquired the property rights to the land and has decided to demolish the
apartments in a few days against the wishes of the occupants. There are
paths to one of the near-by apartments as well as a small dirt road to the
bay.
